After the Imperial Museum, you’ll visit the historic Cathedral of Saint Peter of Alcântara, a beautiful cathedral built in the neo-gothic style complete with pointed arches, vaulted ceilings and exquisite details. While there, you’ll visit the tombs where Emperor Don Pedro II, his wife Dona Teresa, and their daughter, Princess Isabel, are buried.

You’ll also have some down time to visit the famous Rua Teresa, known for its designers and shopping. With architecture inspired by Crystal Palace in London, the building is made of metal and glass and was frequently used by Princess Isabel for parties. The Crystal Palace is also the location where Princess Isabel became one of the first people in Brazil to free her slaves, when she did it a few months before it became law.
